This example is finished in classic sunburst and is set off by chrome hardware. Cool appointments include abalone fingerboard inlays, a raised metallic headstock logo and a parchment pickguard. Locking tuners, LSR roller nut and Fender’s 2 point trem round out the hardware. The bridge pickup has been changed t one with white coils. A DH1 humbucker at the bridge teams with a set of Noiseless pickups at the neck and middle. The modern C shaped, one piece maple neck features a 25.5 inch scale, 9.5 inch radius maple fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets. The body is alder, a classic Fender tone wood. Last full year for the big headstock Strats and this one is probably from one of the last batches. Cool natural finish and original black plastic. The string through bridge and original F tuners keep it rock solid. A trio of original plastic bobbin pickups deliver great tone. The maple neck features the trademark bullet truss rod and 3 bolt neck attachment with Microtilt adjustment. Nicely figured too with some very hip wood grain throughout. The body is ash for that bright and airy tone. A best of both worlds approach that gives you classic Strat tone with a hint of Tele twang. You gotta dig the sustain and attack that comes from a string through body not to mention the tuning stability offered by this rock solid design. SOLD!ġ981 Fender Stratocaster Hardtail! SOLD!
